Guide to Greek Ferries

Saranda to Corfu and Corfu to Saranda

During the low season there is only one passenger ferry (which is actually a hydrofoil) each way from Corfu (a Greek Ionian island) to Saranda (mainland Albania) and returning from Saranda to Corfu (contrary to some information you will find on certain forums!!).

The hydrofoil leaves Corfu at 9.00am and arrives at Saranda (Albania) at 08.45am (Albania is one hour behind Greece and the trip takes around 45 minutes). The ferry / hydrofoil then returns from Saranda to Corfu at 12.45pm and this also takes 45 minutes. From experience (Ted and I personally did this trip on 29.3.2012), the hydrofoil is very smooth even when it's a bit windy and choppy and there were not many people going so there was plenty of space.

Tickets currently (March 2012) cost €19, and this may only be paid in Euros, even when you're buying your ticket in Albania.

The ferry / hydrofoil from Saranda to Corfu and return is run by Finikas lines.
